Hang the Christmas Stockings

Do you hang Christmas Stockings over the fireplace?  Elizabeth Craft Designs has gorgeous dies to create this fun fireplace scene with the stocking hanging off the mantel.

This is a six-inch square card.  On the front is a piece of design paper that resembles wallpaper.

Hang the Christmas Stockings

Die cut the two fireplace pieces, using a light tan card stock, and attach the overlay over the background.   If you use Clear Double Sided Adhesive on the back of the card stock, it makes it easy to attach the two pieces together.  Cut a piece of light gray card stock to go behind the fireplace opening.  Sponge black ink in the center to resemble soot that has collected on the fireplace wall.  Attach to the back of the fireplace die cut.

Die cut the hearth that goes at the bottom of the fireplace, using a piece of Through The Lens Stone cardstock.  Cut a piece of Double Sided Mounting tape behind this piece for dimension.

Die cut the three Pieces that create the flames in the fireplace, using a piece of white card stock that has Clear Double Sided Adhesive on top.  Pull off the adhesive and use Silk Microfine Glitter to create a sparkly flame.  I used Safforn, True Red, Solar Gold, and Orange Glitters.  Use the spoon to pour just a little across the flames creating a two toned appearance on each die cut flame.  Be sure to rub in the glitter with your fingers to bring out the shine.  Attach the three flames together using double sided mounting tape.

Using the Elizabeth Craft Designs Velvet sheets, die cut the pieces for the stockings.  Assemble each stocking.

Use the Festive Glow die set to die cut 12 greenery pieces to go over the mantel.

Use the Bow die from the Balloons die set to die cut a bow out of Silver Metallic Shimmer Sheetz.

Use the CountryScapes Critters 1 die set to die cut the cat.  Color the cat as desired.

Use the Winter Sentiments Clear Stamp Set to stamp JOY.  Color with markers and cut around the sentiment with scissors.

Assemble the pieces on the card front as shown.  Add Red Glitter Dot Peel Off Stickers to the garland.

It was fun creating this realistic fireplace scene.
